What are the requirements to rent a vehicle?
Be an adult over 18 years of age.
Valid National Identity Card or Passport.
Valid Driver's License (National or Foreign).
Credit card as a guarantee/deposit for the Rental Agreement, with a credit limit of COP $600,000 for cars in the Localiza C, F, FU, FX, FL, and LY ranges, or COP $840,000 for full-size cars or SUVs in the Localiza LP, GC, GL, G4, P, PX, VP, LE, and GR ranges. Important: Maximum Risk Value!: In case of theft or accident, the maximum amount assumed by customers is COP $3,570,000 for the Localiza C, F, FU, FX, and FL ranges; COP $4,760,000 for the LY, LP, GC, GL, LU, G4, VP, LE, and GR ranges; or COP $5,950,000 for the P and PX ranges.
Payment methods for vehicle rental?
Your vehicle rental payment must be made by credit card only. Cash or debit cards are not accepted at the rental agency when picking up the vehicle.

Driver's License
From now on, Colombian customers who do not reside in the country must present their Colombian passport and/or national ID card and a valid Colombian driver's license. When a Colombian resident rents a vehicle from Localiza Colombia abroad, the following situations may arise:
Customer presents a Colombian identity document (passport or national ID card) and a valid Colombian driver's license: Service will be provided.
Customer presents a Colombian identity document (passport or national ID card) and a valid foreign driver's license: Service will not be provided.
In the second case, the customer has the following options:
If they have never held a Colombian driver's license, they must request validation or a temporary driving permit from the Colombian transit authority to use their foreign license in Colombia. In this case, service is provided as long as the customer presents this document or permit. It is important to clarify that you must always carry this document to avoid potential vehicle impoundment and receiving a traffic ticket.
If you previously held a Colombian driver's license, you must request its renewal. In this case, service is provided as long as the customer presents this document (a valid Colombian driver's license). It is important to clarify that you must always carry this document to avoid potential vehicle impoundment and receiving a traffic ticket.
All of the above is covered by Law 769 of 202 (National Traffic Code).
Security Deposit/Credit Card Credit Limit: The credit card limit is used to secure the security deposit. This amount will remain frozen for the duration of the vehicle rental. At the end of the rental period, the corresponding credit card company must be notified to release the available credit. This process takes 3 to 5 business days, depending on the bank.
Credit Cards NOT Accepted for Agency Payment or Deposit Creation: The rental company does NOT accept prepaid, virtual, or any other type of card that does not have the numbers or embossed design required for creating the security deposit. Credit Cards are not part of the rental company's proprietary brand.
